Frequently asked questions
Can I try Taxpace for free?
Yes. The Free plan needs no card and has no end date: 1 user, up to 5 clients, 5 returns and 5 documents. It also comes with sample clients to practice with, which don't count toward the limit and can be deleted in one click.
What happens when I reach the free plan limit?
When you add your 6th client, return or document, Taxpace asks you to choose a plan. Nothing you already entered is lost.
How does launch pricing work?
If you sign up by January 31, 2027, you pay the launch price for 12 months from the day you signed up, monthly or yearly. After that it moves to the regular price, with 30 days' notice.
Why does the yearly plan cost 8 months?
Because Taxes season doesn't last all year. With the yearly plan you pay for 8 months and have Taxpace for all 12, October extensions included.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, online, without calling anyone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for. If you cancel a yearly plan within the first 14 days, you get a full refund.
If I cancel, can I take my data with me?
Yes, and it helps to tell two things apart. Canceling the subscription means you stop paying: your account stays open on the free plan, with all your data, to view and export whenever you want (as CSV and with the original files). Closing the account is different: you request it in Settings → Your data and, 30 days later, everything is deleted; during those 30 days you can still export or change your mind.
Does it replace my tax preparation software?
No. You keep preparing and filing in the software you already use (TaxSlayer, Drake or another). Taxpace organizes everything around it: clients, documents, status, disclaimers and payments.
Do my clients need to create an account?
No. They get a personal link that expires, confirm their date of birth, and upload their documents from their phone, in Spanish or English.
What languages is Taxpace in?
Spanish and English. Each user in your office picks their own, and your clients get their links and emails in their language.
How many people can use my account?
Taxpace Individual and Individual Bundle are for 1 user. Taxpace Office and Office Bundle include up to 5 users, and you can add more for an extra fee per user.
What if I only want to keep the books?
That's what Pacekeeping is for, bookkeeping with AI from the same team: for your own business (Pacekeeping Personal) or for your clients (Pacekeeping Business). Meet Pacekeeping. If you also do Taxes, a bundle gets you both for less.
